I am putting a holley on my 71 small block. I am trying to get a pump/line assembly for it. The lt1 pumps in the catalogs appear to have no return line. The line kit consists of 3 lines and a y block. How would this work without a return? Also, where is the filter on an lt1? I am just trying to find out what parts to order. I have a holley 4160 model 3310 carb on a weiand action plus intake. Thanks a lot.

The LT1 didn't use a return line. The inlet line assembly was a steel line system with a Weatherhead Y Block to split the line from primary to secondary float bowls, and consists of 3 line sections. The filters were cintered bronze fiters installed in the float bowl inlets.
Thanks for the reply. Why didn't they need a return? It seems like the pump would work harder than it needed to. I have the regular 350 pump with a return on my 71. Will this work with the y block setup? I just want to make sure I don't need to change anything else. Thanks again.
I have a similar setup as yours. The lt1 fuel line from pump to y block will not connect to the original fuel pump without mods. I was thinking about putting the lt1 fuel pump on it and blocking off the return line but everything I've read from lars is that the return line is a really good thing to have.
What I had in mind was to use the y block with the 2 lines going to each bowl, and use part of the long lt1 line. Then I was going to run part of the standard 350 line and connect it to the lt1 line with a filter. It will take a little modifying, but I will get it to look nice.
