New rear spring thicker than the old one
I'm about to install a new rear spring that I bought at Carlisle. This spring looks like it's about 1/2 inch thicker than my old spring. My old one is missing the anti squeak pads between the leafs, but I have the 3 1/2" long bolts that the catalogs call for. I'm about to go get some 4" long bolts for it, is this a bad idea? It looks like I'll be ok with the longer bolts. If the pads compress I can always put the 3 1/2 inchers back in. I'm going to tighten them with the weight on the car.

Yeah, I bottomed them out. I'm cutting about 1/4 of an inch off of the back ones. Just got some carbide hacksaw blades for the grade 8 bolts.
