Default Windshield Wiper Motor - Ground?

I'm getting the bugs out of my wiper/washer motor. I have one twin connection with a blue and a yellow wire up near the top.

I have one three-wire connection (I can't remember the colors) that is farther down.

But I don't see a ground. Is there supposed to be one? Could it have been a one-prong connection bolted to something that fell off when I took it apart?

Ideas? Photos?

THANKS!

there should be a black ground wire with a packard 56 (i think) type connection that connects to a "spade" which is held by one of the washer cover screws just below the three connector. this wire is connected to the ground wire with a ring terminal that is connected to one of the passenger tranny to block bolts.

The switch provides the ground to make it work. The motor is "hot" all the time, and you ground it through the switch when you turn the wipers on.

the motor could have a separate ground; the diagram i'm looking at isn't always right though . . .

Won't work without this ground attached.
