Default finally reassembling my 427

It's been a long time since I reassembled a motor so my
question is... do I use or need to use gasket sealer on the
cast iron heads.

If you are talking about head gaskets, no, you do not want to put anything on them.

Not so fast: what kind of gasket?

If it's a composite gasket (fel-pro blue is the most common) then you do not use a sealer. Be sure the surfaces are free of oil & grease. I like to wipe the surfaces with carb cleaner. Do NOT wipe the gasket with anything.

Copper or steel shim gaskets work better with sealers.
