Ball Joint replacement
Has anybody replaced upper and lower ball joints without removing the spring or am I looking at being decapitated if I don't. Thanks for any info Guys.

You can do the uppers as the spring does not sit on the upper control. It would be extremely dangerous to attempt replacing the lower ball joint without removing the spring.

I did my uppers and lowers without taking springs out .Just jack under the a/arm. I did it safely, I don't know how experienced you are.Taking the spring out isn't a big deal,you just have to know how to do it safely,knowledge and caution.

Probably my first real experience with my 82 was replacing ball joints. The springs were scary until I used the floor jack method to remove them...
