Default Throttle not fully returning...

Hey all, I haven't had a chance to look at it, but before I start figured I'd ask the experts. Coming home last night I felt a snap while pushing dn on the throttle. Now the throttle has no resistance when I push down on it and I actually had to use my foot to pull it toward me to shift...what a pain! I'm assuming there is a spring located somewhere probably under the dash the forces it to return. Parked it last night, came home too late to start working on it. Hope to look at it today. Any suggestions on where to start? Thanks.

your throttle spring is on the CARBURETOR, not the dash.

So is that the carburetor or CARBURETOR? J/K ..... Found the spring and it did snap. A couple new bends in it and I am good to go. Thanks.

It'd be a good idea for you to replace the spring with a new one or that one will snap again. Also, get a pair of springs. One a large coil spring, and another, a small coil spring to go inside it. Redundant springs help in case of a break at high RPMs.

I had a buddy with a '70s full size pickup with a 350. His spring went while he was hill climbing, and with his foot in it, he went full throttle immediately, spinning the tires...lost control, grenaded the old tired engine, and rolled over. I'd like to think a redundant spring would have helped him.
