How does one make their vette into one that has removable body panels? Seen mostly on race cars, but seems like it would be very handy for those that like to tinker with their cars too.

Simply build a full tube chassis and roll cage. Then, take hi-speed cutoff wheel and chop up all your body panels. Use Dzus fasteners to attach the panels to the roll cage. Done.
For the rear it's easier to leave the rear compartment in the car and cut along the bonding strip so that you can remove only the outside glass and leave the "tub" in place. You must have a lightweight rear glass for this, otherwise it'll be pretty heavy to lift.
My rear is currently eaily removable like that, it just sits on the frame, I could easily fasten it like that with a couple of gzus fasteners.
It's so light, 2 people can very eaily carry and install it.
TT are you planning to keep the body removable? So basically once you get the body off, you build standoffs to attach the body to within the inside and use Dzus fasteners?
