I need advice on what tool to use to cut fiberglass the easiest. I'm thinking of using a dremel. The previous owner glassed-over the rear exhaust holes and I need to cut them out before mounting my new exhaust.
I will also be looking for a replacement rear valence panel, since they glassed this over.
For a small job like that a Dremmel with a cut off disc will probably work. Drill a 1/2" or so hole in the corners and just cut the straight lines. If you are putting it back to stock, do you know where the outlet holes are supposed to be located so your exhaust ends up in the right place?
My cutting tools a choice are a jig saw, 4 1/2" cut of disc, or a hand saw designed for cutting laminate.
yes, from the inside you can see the original mates of the panels. they glassed averything from the outside only. they even left the hardware in that holds the panels together above the exhaust cut-outs. i was also thinking of getting a small fine-tooth saw blade to try and separate them by hand along the original parting line, but I may leave that to the bodyshop.
for now i just want to be able to get the exhaust to exit the car via a rough cut-out of the original holes.

I've had good luck using a dremmel, but look for the thickest cut-off wheel you can buy. I used a Gyros brand fiber disk, 1-3/4" diameter 3/64" thick. I've cut curves without it ever breaking. Got it at Ace Hardware.
