My step son is trying to convince me to replace the factory style mufflers on the 75 with a set up 14" cherry bombs. I am thinking that it is going to be so loud you won't hear yourself think when going down the road. Has anyone tried this or have amy opinions on this?
Depends on alot of factors. Gearing, compression, etc. I had them on a '69 Firebird 400 w/ 4.10's, 4spd. and 11:1 compression and it sounded awesome (with nice back pressure when you let off the pedal). I've heard they are more sound than performance value. Assuming you are stock, low compression and all, I'd guess it would sound nice, but that's a preference thing. What I like and you like can be alot different.
In high school I put a set of cherry bombs on my '65 Mustang. I still remember how noisy it was and the intolerable drone at cruising speed. Vowed never to do something like that again. Mellow yes, but not loud and definitely no drone. Good luck with your decision.
I also had a set of cherry bombs on my '67 Mustang in high school. Loud. I have a set of Summit turbo mufflers on the Vette now. They look stock, give a mellow rumble and flow well. The fact that they are dirt cheap doesn't hurt either. God bless, Sensei

I looked at those Summit Turbos yesterday, and for $16 are they actually constructed decently?? I was going to order the Dynomax Super Turbos at $40/ each but I'd like to make an informed decision. It's not a huge savings and some company is making these for Summit, anyone know who's mufflers they are?
