I have a 19698 427 that i am trying to get a reproduction radiator in. having trouble finding a way to get it in past the fan shroud. any good tips????
I did the radiator in my '76 which has a more convoluted shroud than the '68 I believe. I assume you have the hood off. I pulled the shroud out, then put the radiator in it's bracket. I removed the upper radiator support bracket bolts and pivoted the radiator as far forward as possible. Then after much swearing and wiggling around I got the shroud back in. It was not a fun job. Others might have a better solution. good luck

Remove the bolts holding the core support and move as far forward as possible (hood off too). Then install the rad and shroud together. It's a PITA but can be done using some choice words. I've done this w/o moving the core support also. The trick seems to be installing the rad and shroud together. Takes two people.

This is sound advice. You have to loosen the core support and push it forward the max. Hood off, 2 people, gloves on, cardboard on the radiator coils and work.
Replacing my 79's rad was a PITA. I agree that you'll need to remove the hood and unbolt the radiator supports and move the old rad forward to get the shroud out. Definitely worth having a second pair of hands involved and a six pack of
