Power Steering Control Valve Bracket
Have a question about the bracket that is attached to the power steering control valve. On the backside of the bracket is an extension of sorts. What is that extension for, and for that matter what is the bracket for? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks

I think that you are talking about the stamped bracket that is part of the control valve. It helped the St. Louis and Bowling Green assembly plants to locate and assemble the power steering hoses to the valve.
This end view shows the bracket it is just below the ball bearing plug.
Here you can see the hoses in their criss-cross routing. The end metal hose end bodies pressing against the bracket.
