L-31 vortec heads???
This production Vortec iron cylinder head was first used on the 1996 pickup truck RPO L31 with fuel injection. The intake and exhaust port are very similar to Corvette 350 LT1 heads. This head includes 1.94" intake valves and 1.50" exhaust valves, with pressed-in 3/8" studs. This head with compatible valves flows more air than bow tie head P/N 10134392, but the casting may not be as durable. The water passages are the same as the original 1955 small block design. The eight-holt intake bolt pattern is totally different than the early model V8 12-bolt design.
These heads will bump you up 1-2 points cc wise. You mentioned Emissions required and here is the biatch of it.
1. the edelbrock performer rpm intake does not come with EGR fitting, so if you use this intake your egr is gone, and egr is the primary emissions on a 75 is it not?
2. These heads do not have emissions passages. They require an adapter to be ran with a egr intake. I think Sallee chevrolet can provide more info on it. Not many chevy places are familier with this egr kit for the heads, but Sallee does if I remember correctly.
