Here is the latest. I have followed what tires people put on 72 and older C3 and thought I would go with the size most seem to like. I went to my local tire store (national chain....hate em') to get 245/60/15 T.A Radial tires. They stated that there would be a wait time of two weeks. I inquired this morning, still not there. The man called back this afternoon and stated that size is no longer being made. I then asked for 235/60/15, those are not available. Then I called Coker because they claim to sell the B.F in that size. "We are unable to provide that size" and if we were it is $30.00 for shipping, per tire!. I need four tires! What the h....ll! Is this to much to ask? I just want four tires with raised white letters that is a major brand. Guess I will hunt for Dunlops.

I know Goodyear stopped making some sizes, didn't hear B.F.G did the same. Try www.tirerack.com I purchased mine from them & it was the best price I found. If you can't get four of the same size put either 245's or 255's on the rear. The 235's look small on the rear unless you lower the car.
Mike,
I agree with Jims79. Don't go with the 235/60s. I had a set on my 71. The tires always looked small. I replaced then with 225/70 GY GT2s. They looked much better. I currently have BFG 245/60s on my 70. They are a great choice if you want something wider than the 225. I ordered both sets of tires in San Diego through the Miramar Exchange. They were delivered within a week. This was in 2004 and 2005 but at least then they were easy to get.
Got BFGoodrich 255/60/15 for rear and 235/60/15 for front a few months ago from Sam's Club for $400.25 complete with their lifetime repair balance rotate etc. It took 1 week to get, but no shipping charges to the store.
Mounting and balance can be a bunch these days, so get the complete price when shopping.
That is funny....I live in San Diego. I just called on 245/60/15 Dunlop GT Qualifiers raised whites. Those tires are available. I still am going to keep trying for the B.F.G because for me it's a B...F....D. Also I have just wrote the BFG corporate office with my concern. Lets see if anyone cares. Mike
I had some problems with the 255's on the rear of my 73. Parking brake cable would rub. I had to secure the cable to the trailing arm for them to work. I've heard pleanty of people say they've had no problems with them back there though. I also have 255's on the front and have had no problems with those.
www.summitracing.com. Best prices, Best selection, Quick delivery. I bought 2 - 12 x 15 cragar ss, 2 - 8 x 15 cragar ss, 2 - 295 50 15, 2 - 225 60 15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's, 4- 3 bar spinners. 4 spacers, lugs to fit wheels with spacers, mounted, balanced, SS valve stems. shipped for under $1100. Had them in 3 days
I had BFG Radial TA with 235/60/15 and 255/60/15's on my car. they looked good, but they didn't really perform well. I ended up going with Dunlops D8000 255/50/16 back with 235/50/16's up front. I mounted these on old style Torque thrusts, which look good. I really like the tires a whole lot better than the BFG's ... just my 0.02 ..
I just went thru this with my 67. I ordered new rims and wanted to have new BFG's mounted on them. The Tire Rack said that Goodrich keeps pushing back their delivery date on the 245/60/15's.I believe they wait until the get enough demand to make a production run profitable. I checked with Sumitt Racing and they have the same problem with the 245's. I did find a tire company in my area that found what I needed. I'm now running around with new rims and rubber.
Keep looking you'll find what you need.

I just bought some BFG's for my '67....I had to hunt around a little bit,....but the local NTB had many choices in stock at a lower price than anyone else quoted.
I even went back a few weeks later when I decided my front tire choice looked a little too big and they exchanged them for me ( I hadn't driven them) and remounted the new tires and balanced them for free!! Wouldn't even let me pay for it even though it was my fault.
O.K its done, I am sticking to 245/60 per your recommendations. Here's what I don't get, know I sound like Glen Beck. I subscribe to many vintage auto magazines and there are a ton of the muscle cars with T/A raised tires on them. So, BFG why aren't you making the tire that fits the wider rims? Is it because we don't wear em' down fast enough as the cars are usually for weekends? That is my guess. Thank you all for your time in this matter and the search will continue.
After about 15 years I replaced my BFG 225/70/15 Radial TAs with a set of BFG 255/60/15 Radial TAs. I was very disappointed with the cosmetics of the new tire. The surface of the old tires were smooth with almost a satin black texture. The new tires have a rougher surface that doesn't look as good even with tire dressing. I don't know if they have changed their compound or their manufacturing plant but they don't look like the same tires I had before. If I end up changing wheels I'm going to go with 17 inch and a modern radial. At least then I'll have some choices. Just my $.02.
