I'm at 28.5" Gulp!
So, after reading the prior thread about ride height, I went out and checked my 80 Vette...28.5"!!! Wowsers! I knew it was a little high but...
So, this winter I have scheduled a few things to address this such as Bilstein Sport shocks, 360 composite rear spring & 550 coils for the front. Will these changes lower the ride height? I was told that the 550 coils will lower the car without the need to cut them. Is this true? Or, should I just cut a 1/2 coil right off the bat since the car rides at 28.5" right now?
Also, would it be wise to get the 8" rear spring bolts? I would like the whole car lowered by 2 inches. This should put ride height at a realistic 26.5"
Don't cut the front springs until you test fit them and they settle. There easy enough to change. Go ahead and get the 8" bolts(cheap enough) in case you need them after the rear spring replacement
