Default fan clutch going bad?

Ok, it appears my fan clutch is going out...fan continues to spin when the engine is shut off. my question is, is there any problem with driving it like this, or can it cause damage? Im going to change it out over ther Christmas holidays while off of work, just like to take it on short drives in the evenings. thanks Don

Is there any play in the fan front to rear? If there is the bearing is gone, if not the fan can spin for a short duration just after the engine is shut off. The replacement is easy and unless you are into NCRS you can probably get a new clutch at NAPA or other parts store, i got one at NAPA for about $45.00 and it took about 15 minutes to change it out.

You may be ok for a short while as long it does not wobble...check for play...if more than 1/8",it could take out your water pump shaft seal/bearing...(the clutch should stop fan within 1 1/2 turns...)
