Does anybody have a blown up drawing of the non tilt steering column so i can change out the turn signal plastic and put in a new ignition switch or does anybody have any suggestions on making this job easy :mad :smash:
I have the tilt/tele steering on my 72 and I got the blown up schematics from Jim Shea of this board. Although I used them to diagnose a key buzzer problem, the actual disassembly of the steering column was very easy and I didn't need or use a schematic at all. I would tackle this, making notes as you go along about the orientation of the various components. In addition, if you have a digital camera, take a photo every few steps. When I worked on the turn signals for my 66 a number of years ago, again, I didn't have any diagrams and it was really quite easy.
Go to http://www.corvettefaq.com and look under Suspension and Steering. You will find the following:
Adjust Dimmer and/or Ignition Switch
Standard Column Blowup Picture
Standard Column Disassembly Instructions
Standard Column Disassembly Picture #1
Standard Clolumn Disassembly Picture #2
That should be all you need.
If you need further help, post a specific question or eMail me.
