There are a few guys on the forum that really understand the principles of camshaft basics...I do not claim to be one of those guys. However, MOST guys here shoot for the highest "lift" numbers without really understanding how the "overall" package affects the final output. IMO I think you'll be fine with the LT4 cam if you're looking for good low and mid range torque.
Good luck.
Thanks...now I just have to decide on some good spring.
That's exactly what he said...a can like the one above would get me high RPM HP, but I would lose everything I am building the 400 for. I told him I have the TH200R4 and will be installing 3.55s if I don't already have them. He said the Hot Cam will get me tons of low RPM torque, peaking around 4500 RPMs. With my trans and rear end...that'll be perfect. I guess the guys at ThirdGen weren't too far off huh?
Well you wanted a TQ monster well it mite deliver that but it will out of breath at 4k and sound like a stock motor.

Anyway good luck with it.
You're all very right...above 4K I will start to wind it. But I guess the professional I talked to wasn't on his game, because he was sure I would have a TON of torque...all the street tires could handle. That sounds like exactly what I want, so I'm not complaining about the RPM limit.
