Just curious but i thought crossed flags like the ones in my avatar were corvette specific but i have a friend who tells me they were not. Can anyone here clear this up for me. :chevy
My understanding is the red flag on the left has a symbol in it that Louis Chevrolet saw on some wallpaper in a French hotel. I wouldn't take this as absolute fact, but I got this from a thread when I was on the VetteNet email list.
Don't hold me to this, but I think it was used on most High performance models of various Chevrolet lines. Interesting note, the fleur-de-lis was branded on the shoulder of women convicted of adultery in France. I always knew there was a bit of that in my Vette. I think of it as a high performance, high maintenance, unpredictable b***h that bears watching at all times. :yesnod:
I just dug through the shop and found some fender emblems I have from a 66 impala 396 and they have the same flags with 396 turbo-jet on the bottom.
