Default Spark Plugs?

This question concerns my '67 Olds rather than my vette. However, this is a great site for helping with different projects and I thank you for that. My question is, I just went from a points to HEI distributor, and I am replacing plugs. Do I go with the same type of plugs and re gap then from .035 to .060, or should i go with another type plug. The engine is an Olds 425 4 barrel. Again, I apologize for posting a question regarding an Olds on this site but I am learning about different types of engines and this site is very helpful and useful.

The HEI ignition may supply the plugs with higher voltage, etc. but the combustion chamber burn characteristics shouldn't be much different. If the plugs look good (not burning lean or rich and no significant deposits), heat range shouldn't need to be change. My question would be with the plug wires, not with the plugs.

Default Spark plugs

Guys, thanks for the replys. I'm using plug wires from my c-3 (I,ve got new ones). Also, I'll gap the plugs to .045 and see how they do. Again, thank for the help.

.045 is the ticket for stock GM HEI. If your unit is Accel or DUI, you might get .050. Since it is an old car, stick to the .045.
