Default Comp Cams EndureX roller lifters?

I'm going to buy a set of lifters this morning over at Summit. I'm willing to try something new. I Saw on the Comp web site lifters called Gen III made for NASCAR and some other type made for higher spring pressures.

I know Jim and a few others swear by these lower priced EndureX. What would you buy?

The SR cam they will run on is 248/250 110 lsa with near .700 lift

I've had good luck so far with the newer Comp pressure fed lifters. The main reaon I used them was they gave me a HECK of a deal on them when they were developing them. When I toured Comp last summer they showed me where they ahd recently changed the axle shaft to an even better one than mine have. Look for a dimple in the end of the shaft for the *good* ones. If you have them rebuild them, they automatically install the better shaft these days.

But if you look at the Isky Red Zones side by side...you will see that they use a much larger shaft than the Comp. Do a search on Norval's posts...he had a picture of them.

Isky is also coming out with a needle-less lifter. It uses a solid bushing in roller. Supposed to be $150 more than the Red Zones....but they say testing is showing 4 times the life at least.

Might check them out.

In a big block you could not pay me to run the Explode-X. I had a near failure and two friends of mine had massive failures. Maybe they have improved the design in the last few years. That being said, I have not heard of any problems with small block applications.

The bushing idea in the Isky's seems like a good idea long overdue.

John, I have been happy with the Crane Pros. I was going to watch the video and the download speed was like 30+ minutes. everybody must be getting it now.

I did see a video a few years ago of nearly glowing white springs in some kind of race motor. My blower buddy saw it also. He had several spring failures drag racing (9200 rpm in his 555ci KB) It convinced him to run the tilton pump and just fill the valve covers with oil just to cool the springs

Gkul-The Cranes are decent, but most guys with a serious motor prefer the Crower sever duty or Isky red zone. Unfortunately they are both pricey.
