Final check before pulling engine....
I think I'm just about ready to pull a 350 from my defunct '89 Sub. to rebuild and use in my '70. I have the tranny disconnected at the transaxle--(and it leaked alot of tranny fluid) I disconnected(unbolted/removed the following: starter, AC compressor & hoses, radiator and hoses, fly wheel cover, engine mounts & supports and exhaust system.
I think all I need to do now is remove the bolts from the tranny ->engine and a few minor throttle and misc manifold connections. Did I miss anything?
Should I support the tranny while I remove the engine?
Should there be an engine "lift" hook in the rear of the engine? I could only find a hook/bracket at the front of the engine.

If there is no hook in the back you can use a bolt through the chain and screw it into the back of the head. Make sure you use the head on the opposite side from the hook in the front. As for is everything disconnected? My philosophy is start pulling and if it gets stuck, unstick it.
