Do you guys think there would be a good market for a kit, containing everything one would need to convert a manual lock car to keyless entry? It would be pretty easy since I've done it before and know where to get everything. It would be simple and useful at the same time.
Thoughts?
I could become a vendor if I had enough orders....
Edit: MODS - I'm not selling anything with this thread...just gaging possible interest, and maybe I can help a few guys out in the future.

The problem I ran into was travel. The actuator wants to travel about a full inch, and the locking linkages move about half that when they moved from one position to the next.
was that just to unlock it?.... i'm looking for a door popper kit that releases the latch and kicks the door.... the door latch needs alot of force to engage.... i'm still up in the air with it
The thing I have not found would be a keyless entry kit that has a garage door button on it. I am one of those minimalist guys that can't stand carrying around a big azzed ring of keys and I want a keyfob remote to lock/unlock the car, arm the alarm and open the garage door. Got one of those around? Oh, it has to be Genie Intellicode compatible

So demanding!
However, that would kick serious *** if there was one. Come out here and install one of those on my car DB! You can use it as a marketting gizmo.

Yes, my set up was strictly for remote lock and unlock.

If you have an extra button on your remote. You can make that extra button activate your garage door. You need to find out who the manufacture is and you want to get a Garage door kit or they my call it a 1 channel receiver. If not you can find on ebay another keyless or alarm module. Tap the module into the garage door switch which is just looking for contact. Code the extra channel into the new reciver and you good to go. I have this set up for my sons car.

Now why didn't I think about that? I got all that stuff laying around, Thanks!
I had a friend that tried a carbed remote start. It only worked after the car had been started that day.
I always wondered how the computer knows when to disengage the starter, and if it were trained to keep on it longer if more carbed cars would start.
Because the fuel is still up in the carb. We used to use a soleinoid that would prime the carb but some cars it worked fine others it would flood.
In regards to starter, The remote start would monitor tach, once it see 300 rpm it disengages the starter. If you had a little to much over crank, you could go into programming and take out a few miliseconds. I worked for Audiovox selling remote starts and alarms for years. Audiovox made the best R/S out there period. Audiovox and DEI were built at Nutek in Tiwain, and DEI always stole our ideas. Audiovox strengh was we owned the new car dealers business so we knew what was happening with the new cars so we could help the ma & pa store no problem because they didn't see the car till a year later.

A carbed starter would need a separate unit to set the choke. That's why they are usually not available - plus there aren't enough carbed cars left to warrant the effort.
The EFI units sense the RPM to shut off the starter...

Great to know...I will probably be putting in remote start too when I get my EFI system installed and running good.
