You might try Keisler or a few of the other manual vendors and see it they offer a good tubular lightweight cross member for a '77 manual.

Sorry, we do not offer a replacement crossmember for the '77. We do have one for the '80-'82 but it was designed to accept the TKO. The rest of our vette kits use an adapter bracket that attaches to your existing crossmember.

Richard, thanks for jumping in. Since you do not offer one, can you shed some light on places to look, other vendors, and if something like that could be made easily for him?

Richard,

Do you sell any of the kit components individually? I'm putting a LS1/T56 in a 73 auto frame and I need to deal with the transmission mount issue. I suspect that your bracket and the modified crossmember might do the trick. The driveshaft and offset shifter might come in very handy also. Thanks.

I used the Bowtie crossmember when I did my TKO install sometime ago. I did have to modify it some to work, but it is a nice piece.

Well.... the truth is we don't sell the "proprietary" parts seperate from the kits(crossmember, sheetmetal etc...). I can help you with a driveshaft and shifter assembly though.
Durango boy, Panic: It just came to me... Try ATS for the crossmember
Don't know if they can help but they do carry crossmembers.

ATS? Thanks. Do you have a web address for them? I did a Google and didn't come up with anything.

Yep, sorry.... www.t56kit.com
Panic: Sorry, I just realised you were asking for a 4 speed crossmember not a 6 speed.

Panic,
I'd bet the x-member for the 700r4 would be real close, with minor modifications it would work. However, if you've got a fixed x-member the modification would be much more involved. I'm putting one of these under my car to gain some space, I don't think there is much difference in the weight, however, I didn't weight the two to compare.
