Default Emblem glue?

For emblems on the hood & fenders (ie crossed flags etc) what type of glue or epoxy works best? Should I use regular ol clear indoor/outdoor silicone caulk?

Thanks in advance

Use the original stuff, 3m emblem adhesive(Clear)

Available at most automotive stores.
There is also a thin 2 sided rubber trim tape for putting emblems on that works well, once it sticks it does not come off.

Just stop at your friendly auto parts store. There are several quality products available. I wouldn't use super glue or crazy glue.

I HAD to use super glue...it was the morning of a big show and, while I was wiping her down for the last time, the rag caught on the "CORVETTE" emblem on the back bumper and bent half of it out about 1/4"...didn't crease it....just enough to be REALLY noticeable! Since I was already set up and everyone else around me was set up, I couldn't drive out....so I walked around the corner and down the street to a Target (about a mile) and got some super glue gel...hoping it would work....it did, got 1st place in my class and it hasn't been a problem since....and life was good.... Isn't it silly...some people would walk a mile for a Camel....I walked a mile for some Super Glue.....I guess it's all a matter of priorities.....

It's not that it doesn't work, it just can be extremely difficult to remove what has been glued together. In other words, it works to good.

Are all the emblems held on by adhesives? I thought they had posts with nuts holding them.

That depends. On an 81, the front is adhesive with locating pins, the back is studs and nuts. I imagine there is a variety of this thru the years.

The original nose emblem on my 77 had the adhesive tape under it, then speed nuts on the back side. Not sure if it was original, but I put the speed nuts back when I put a new emblem on.

3 M products seem to be the best. Last summer at the Telegraph Cruise I used of of my Camaros and some bastard tried to remove a 396 fender emblem. I used regular 3 M weather stripping cement and stuck it back on. I noticed a few days ago it`s still on tight and impossible to move.
