Default Power steering woes

Hey I am having a problem with my power steering system holding fluid. I replaced the slave cylender and the hoses last year so they are fine. However, when I had the car jacked up this past weekend it looked like fluid was leaking out of the end of the valve (not sure what its called but its the thing that all the hoses plug in to). How hard are these things to rebuild? or should I just get a new one. Thanks

James

The thing you're talking about is the control valve. I replaced mine with a new one. Corvette Central, Ecklers etc sells them. Follow the instructions closely when installing regarding centering your steering wheel after startup.

If you're at all mechanically inclined, you can rebuild yours. Most Vette vendors sell both the valve and rebuild kit. Here's the prices: Personally, I stay away from Eckler's...I've had too many problems with them latley.

I bought a rebuilt control valve from Advanced Auto for $45. No problems so far!
