My Mustang T5 was the GREATEST mod I did to my '79! The difference is greater than night and day! Of course, the Keisler would be my choice if I had budgeted for it; they are local vendors here in Knoxville!

You'll no by the way it bleeds if you don't have numbers. The NWC use 80-90 weight gear oil and the WC use automatic trans fluid. By the way I do have an extra NWC chevy t5 for sale if anyone is interested.
Ford started using the WC box in 1985. GM started using it in 1988 and up F-Body Cars. However some of the S10 truck T5's were not WC even in the 90's.
People confuse World Class with Ford Motorsport. The WC box was just a typcal design progression of the T5.
Currently there are over 270 T5 model part numbers. The T5 was used and still is in other makes. Jeep, Ford, GM, TVR, Cosworth Sierra, SSANG ( Korean ), Nissan, Nisson, Bejing Jeep, Jacobson tractor ( as a T4), Panther ( solo model ) to name a few, including some Holden models in Australia. Most of these were World Class. I currently hold in my possession just about every T5 / T4 model made.

You really should use the Dextron III even in the NWC. The box was never designed to run gear lube.
Download the instruction manual from the Tremec Website: STD refers to Non WC. Read page 2. I do know that the Jeeps used a funky type of gear lube most likely because of the transfer case being unsealed in some applications ( sharing the oil ). Jeeps did burn units up and ate up mainshafts because of this.

Got any used WC T5s for sale? Working order preferred.
Hello togheter. I'm going also to swap my th350 with a t5 ( type 1352-176). I got this one really cheap from a camaro owner with bellhousing, clutch and pedals from a camaro.
What abaout the crossmember and the driveshaft? I did not find any good links or how to's for this swap.
Can i reuse the th350 driveshaft on my 79 vette?
About the t-5: my engine has about 280ftp on the wheels, the t-5 is good for265....I will try first with the original gears, and if i crash them, i will upgrade with the set of g-force. by the way, what means "power-shift"?
best regards from switzerland.

Say you're in 3rd gear, and shooting for a high RPM passing speed. You get waaaay up to the red line, getting all the HP you can out of 3rd gear, mash the clutch, shift to 4th, drop the clutch and mash the gas hard. That's a power shift.
AHHH! OK! thank you verry much for the explanation. I was thinking is something like a hard start with slippering clutch or so.
Thanks!
The reason it's a bad idea to do this in the T5s is because of a weaker system of components in that part of the trans. When you power shift you're putting a lot of stress on the parts that can't take the abuse. Then failure. Driven responsibly...the T5 will hold up under most circumstances.

The 034 box is a 1983 SVO ford transmission. It is not a WC transmision. You cannot convert NWC to WC. I have a whole list of FAQ T5 questions at www.5speeds.com/board.html

The T5 DVD is coming in summer of 2007.
OK I am confused I thought SVO Mustangs started in 1984 and had a 4cyl turbo. Also my transmision has the printing on the face of the counter gear bearing. Could the counter gear bearing from a wc be swaped into nwc transmion ?
