This question is concerning my 1970 convertible. Ubove the windshield frame lays the chrome pieces that attach to the frame. In turn the convertible top then attaches to the chrome pieces. What sealant is used to place in the seams so that water will not seep in between the chrome pieces?. The original sealant is now rock hard and crumbling.
A side note. I cannot figure why Chevrolet would build a convertible top that didn't hang over the chrome so the water would drip down the windshield off of the top. I have noticed that even the hardtop sits back. Maybe its me.
Second question is about the F-41 suspension option. Was the last year 1969? I am trying to figure why my late 70' has a swaybar in the rear and no it is not aftermarket. My convertible does not have a swaybar in the rear. Both cars are very stock. Yes I have looked up the options page. Maybe its me.....again. Thanks in advance.

No rear bar factory installed on a small block car until 1975. All big blocks got the same front and rear bars regardless of F41 or not. The F41 did continue past 69, but was included and only avialable as part of the ZR1/ZR2 packages except for 71, when it could be ordered on the LS5/LS6/LT1. Unless the car was originally a big block, somebody added the factory bar.
I looked under both cars. The coupe has nine leaves with sway and the Convertible has 7 with no sway. Perhaps the coupe is more weight therefore more spring? There is difference in the ride as the coupe is rougher. Both cars are #'s match throughout. Maybe someone put an F-41 option on the car? Further investigation is needed. Any opinion from an expert is gladly accepted. Mike.
Seems backwards on the leaf springs. The 7 leaf should have the rear bar,(F-41). No for the nine. Here's a photo of a 71 ZR1 convert's, (in fact the only 71 ZR1 convert made), rear sway bar

I looked for a leak for months on my '72 T - Top and it was right there in front of me all the time, between the 'I' chrome trim piece and the windshield trim piece. I used Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant (by Permatex) and it worked great, no more leak.
