Default u-joint cap

I'm changing my joints on my half shafts and on one of them the cap will rotate in the bore(?) I also see a notch in the bore where someone must have got a little side ways while pressing the cup in thats why the cap spins thats why they were easy to remove. I'm guessing a spinning cap is not good? comments welcome Does anyone know if vansteel offers a discount for forum members

Yes, Vansteel gives a discount to forum members. Give them a call and let them know what you need. Dan is a good guy to talk with. He can also probably answer your u-joint question.

I set them up for a snug fit, I don't use them if they are too loose. I have repaired bores that were damaged by broken caps but this was one area not the complete ID.
You may be looking at a new shaft- either new or used. If you have driveshaft shop in your area they can weld on a new yoke too.
