Default HorsePower TV Engine Buildup

I have been following HorsePower TV. They take a GMPP 290HP, make modifications then put on a DTS PowerMark engine dyno to record the increase in HP achieved thus their buzz slogan of "Bang For The Buck". The last episode was great achieving 411HP with a Edelbrock top end kit. Since the GMPP 290HP is the mule engine here can someone tell me exactly what it is in regards to pistons, etc.

I have the LM1 short block in my vette, same eng as the 290hp version but smaller cam. I have it set with alum heads right now putting out about 350 hp.
Here is a 1 pc rear seal with a little straonger crank and yeilding a touch more compression but pretty much the same short block.

I wished they had dynoed the baseline engine as well...just to see how they compare to the advertized 290 hp.

it looks like you get a nodular iron crank and pm rods for a couple hundred bucks more in the 290hp version.
