Rear axle Numbers?

Rear axle Numbers?
I have a 1971 vert and the rear axle has the stamping of AXW 75E2. My NCRS spec guild doesnt list that number with the W in it for 1971. The book does list the W in1965-1969 years. I'm confused, can anyone help decifer this number?
Do I have an older axle? That would be a bummer because everything else in the car is numbers matching! Don

I am not a 71 to 72 expert, but I think you have the OEM differential.
71-72's have a two letter differential production code (AX); this is followed by a third letter denoting the assembly plant. ( The W is for Warren, Michigan)
Then comes one, two or three letters denoting the day of the year the unit was built ( 75th day). Then a single letter indicating the source of the unit (E for Eaton); The final number represents the shift that buillt the unit (2= second shift).
