Default Valve Guides Seals

I am in the process of having the heads rebuilt on my 427-390HP engine. I have tried the black rubber and orange silicone with out much luck. The tend to break and end up in the oil pan/ I drive the car nearly evergy day in the summer and run it fairly har. Anyone have luck with nylon ot the rubber with small nylon seals? Put them on both intake and exhaust? The valve guide area casting has been machined and is not original rough casting but a smooth machined surface.

Have you looked at Teflon or Viton? They machine the top of the guides like that to install Teflon seals.

Viton seals I have seen push on the stock guide, your guides
have been cut for PC seal, can't see how that could work with
the outer guide cut down.

Check Perfect Circle for valve seals. You may be stuck since your heads have been machined for them. Teflon seal set up with the proper clearance and the correct chamfer at the top allow enogh oil to lube the guide. Some guys set them up too tight, galling the guides and giving them an undeserved bad rap. Teflon handles extreme temperatures extremely well.

I switched from teflon to viton. The vitons stopped my engine's oil consumption and smoking.
