I started installing the new Al Knock top on my '69 and I'm having some trouble. It may be because it was a little cold that day, about 60* in the garage, but I attached the back of the top to the rear bow and installed the weatherstrip. The problem is I can't stretch the top around far enough to reach the verticle pillars behind the windows. It seems to be 1/2" short on each side. I did use a heat gun and slightly warmed the top when I attached it to the rear bow, but just couldn't pull it any tighter. Any suggestions?

You may have to start over. Start at the center of the rear bow and work the bead into the slot. Work out by twisting the screw driver in the direction that will stretch the top to the sides. You should be able to gain enough material to reach the side window rail.

Thanks, that make sense. Of course the instructions that came with the top says to start at each end and work towards the middle for some reason.
