I have decided on 9.5 x 17 f w/275/40/17 and 10.5 x 18 w/305/40/18.
I can't buy wheels/tires and new f/r glass springs yet. I want to cut stk springs to get ride height correct and use longer bolt to get 9 leaf rear a little lower.
My question is: Can I shorten the stk 7 leaf spring to fit the 10.5s?
What are my options? TIA
i would get the wheel and tire combo 1st then modify the springs to get the stance and an alignment after. yes you can mod a rear steel spring shorter or buy one thats 1 1/2 shorter from guldstrand. a custom length glass spring is also available from VBP.
I will most likely get VB&P Monospring front and Transverse rear. That's about $900 plus labor. The wheels and tires, Hickock's "$3500 and BFGs $1000" are big items. I want to get that right the first time.
I want to see what Van Steel has coming out in rear suspension. I like to keep an open mind when it comes to performance/money.
