Radio Snap (Electrical ) when Shifting
On my 73 every time I down shift from fourth to third, I hear a pronounced electrical 'snap' through the radio speakers if the radio is on. I realise it's in conjunction with the TCS system being deactivated. The TCS is working as it should but for the last three years, I've been trying to find and fix this problem keeping the car 'factory correct'. Other then this annoying problem, the radio workes fine and is clear not picking up any 'noise' when the signals, brake lights, blower fan motor are activated. There is no ignition noise. Just a little background, I had the car for almost 27 years and it is seriously 'bone' stock, absolutely no modifications. I've checked grounds, wires arcing,I've pulled the factory stereo radio out having it 'rebuilt',replaced each componet of the TCS system but still no fix. Besides hearing the usual,'disconnect the system' or 'don't listen to the radio' (which I only do to see if the problem exists),I'd really like to find and correctly repair the problem.Any solid thoughts would definitely be appreciated.
I just replaced the ignition capacitor on the coil.
