horn question
Hey guys just a simple question. I changed the steering wheel today and when i whet to put it back together and tested everything out I realized that the horn was not working. Im pretty sure I put everything back together properly and I even double checked it and the steering emblem seems to have the proper movement. I cant remember if the engine needs to be running for the horn to work. Shouldn't it run off the battery? I havent tried starting the car to test it out because there is some work at the moment being done on the headlights and I didnt want them to flip down.

The horn works whenever the battery is hooked up. just like your cigarette lighter and brake lights, you may have blown a fuse when you were playing around in there, or did you get that little spring back into the tube right.

I'd pull off your horn button and ground the contact directly to the steering wheel. If the horn sounds, your contacts are corroded or you put something together wrong.
What the other poster meant was the horn works whether or not the ignition is on, I am sure he knows you need the battery to power the electric horn!!!
