Default CARB PROBLEMS...HELP

Hey guys, I posted a carb question last week when the secondaries were dripping fuel at idle. I had a spare carb of the same model (4175), so I took the secondary bowl off and put it on the carb that was in the car...must have been the needle and seat, cause it fixed that problem.
I noticed some fuel dripping from the rubber fuel hose that goes from the sending unit to the metal fuel line that runs down the frame to the fuel pump. So , I replaced that rubber fuel hose. Now, the car is running like crap. Idle surging, no power on acceleration, popping out the pipes, and a pitiful sounding exhaust note.
Help, I have three homecoming parades scheduled for this weekend. Any ideas????

sounds like its not getting enough fuel??

did you put the hoses on securely with clamps?

could the line be clogged with crap??

blow out the line with compress air?

Lines are secure with clamps tight. I was also thinking about a clogged line.
I am tight on a schedule with these homecoming parades, so I took it to my mechanic.
He called to say the Carburetor needs to be rebuilt, and the points and condensor need to be replaced. I really wasn't thinking any of that was the problem...I guess I will let him have a shot at it.
