Default Distributor Rework Advice Please!

OK, another item I need to work on.... The distibutor in my '71 coupe SB is original [as far as I know] and the engine runs well but has a little bit of a rough idle. Plugs are clean, carb is rebuilt, vacuum is good and I'm wondering if there might be some wear in the distributor which is causing erratic timing at idle. Is there a paper/article which someone can recommend on evaluating the condition of a distributor and then rebuilding it if required?

I sent my point distributor to Lars to be set up. I believe he's written a paper or two on the subject also.

try www.lbfun.com/corvette/tech/vettetech

There are numerous tech articles including Lars' on setting up a distyributor. If this address does not work search the entire forum for vettetech and you will find the thread.
