Default Frame Paint

I've just finished repairing the frame on a 69 and was wondering what types of paints others have used on the frame. I've heard horror stories of the chasis black sold by POR-15 and didn't just want to use rustoleum without some feedback from others. I was looking for a good paint (enamal/laquar??) that would hold up to petroleum spills in the engine bay and resist most of the road debris.

Regards,
69 Shark

I used Eastwood Chassis Black - the lower gloss mix - over a base of Rust Bullet Silver and the results looked good. I sold the car before the frame got reassembled so I can't comment on the durability but I will probably do the same thing on the 73 frame that I'm refinishing. Here are a couple of pics of the painted frame.

I used Eastwood Chassis Black on my frame also, love it. Easy to apply and hasnt had any problems yet. I sandblasted my frame to make sure it was clean which im sure helped alot.

I'm a big fan of Eastwood's Chassis black, too. Used it eleven years ago on my frame - still have the car and frame still looks great. I used their rust encapsulator under the paint even though I sanded off all of the surface rust.

1 vote for POR-15 here!
I like it, feel very confident it will be durable and outlast me.

I prefer John Deere Blitz Black. Looks just like factory.
