I know this type of thread had been around the block. But I do like these seats, and I'd like to hear some info on these. I'm 6'4, and i have a 34-36 pending on jeans. I do need to get behind the seats every so often. I'll even settle for A4's or any other seat I deem "cool". Also I'd like them to be leather. So any thought or recomendations on anything. The seats I have really don't cut it for me....
Check out this thread....My corbeau GTS II's are pictured on the first page in another forum members yellow C3. I have yet to install them in my 68 but I know they fit and are very comfortable. I'm 6-2, 35 waist 200lbs. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1594824
Also do a search and include the archives, you will find tons of threads about seats and what people like, most people also include their height & weight.
Thats the thing I searched the archives. But nothing interested me on other seats. I don't want fiero seats or new Vette seats, or some weird custom. I would like to know who owns the CR1's or A4's and found out thier body size. I don't care if the seats are higher. I'm 6'4 I have to slouch in the seat anyway or my head hits the roof..haha. So I just want to know if I'll fit in the seats. I aswell way 200lbs. Hmmm. Well I need to get to work I'll be back later....
One guy on here has the A4 seats in his car. Its a yellow chrome bumper, i think 69 with an aluminum airfoil underneath the nose and fixed auto-x headlights. Sweeeet car and his seats sit very high but look good.
Here is a quote on the A4 from them: "The A4 is extra aggressive in the kidney area and has harder cushioning. It will fit up to a 34" waist."
Here is a quote from them on the GTSII: "The GTS II will fit up to a 38" waist."
I assume this quote applies to both seats: "One of the most unique features with this kit is that it offers custom shaved seats with significantly lowered mounting brackets and sliders to allow drivers up to 6’ tall comfortably ride without rubbing your head on the roof! Other brackets that supposedly “fit” set the driver up much higher in the vehicle than the factory seats did, creating an awkward riding position."
I like the GTS II look b/c to me it looks less ricey and more classy yet sporty. Just my .002
I beleive Corbeau makes seat mounting brackets for the 68-76 vettes.
I remember a website a while back when I got my seats that advertised the brackets.
Although word on the forum was that a batch of the brackets were out of demensions and had to be fixed at Corbeau's expense.
I like the A4 seats but not in my 68 vert. Maybe a coup would look better. The GTS II's are comfy.
so the gtsII will fit in a 76 c3? as that what your saying?.. hmm.. I was about to settle for some A4's... Well I ill keep looking
You might contact Speed Direct just to see if they have the brackets yet for the earlier cars for the GTSII. See my post with the link above. I seem to recall a post months ago where someone said SD had the new brackets but had not updated their web site yet. I'm not in the market for seats right now but they do seem a little pricey. Might be interesting to see if they have the brackets available though since they advertise a lower seating position compared to others--but, then again, they may have been ones that had the out of spec brackets that 68 NJConv 454 was talking about.
