i recently replaced all my mains, seal and rod bearings with the engine in the car. i torqued mains to 45 ft.lbs first go round,stepping it up to 75 ft. lbs.for final, and the oil pump bolt to 55-60.ft.lbs.
rods torq. to 45 ft lbs. final. this is on a small block. all bearings were at their max. wear limit, .003", (odo. 75000 mi.) but the back of the bearings had (GM 10/81), car is a 79, so at some time , someone else has done this also, or rebuilt the engine??? cause the #'s match.

I want to do the rear main on mine before driving time gets here again. I guess I should be out there doing something now.
