I want to add a front spoiler to my car, but am a little confused by type and varying cost. I've decided to go with the Pace Car style, but not sure the difference of 1 piece vs. 3 piece. Seems the 3 piece would be cheaper to replace a damaged section, but it cost considerably more on the fron end.
I just want something that looks good and not cheap looking. The bolt-on look is just fine, but I want the best looking bolt-on look that I can get. Also, does fiberglass look better than ABS?
Can you guys help me out? What do you like and what do you think looks the best? What's the best way to install? Bolt-on, rivet, adhesives? Any other advice appreciated.
I have the one-piece bolt on front spoiler on my '75. It is painted silver
the same color the car. Urethane is basically plastic. While the one-
piece is fiberglass and is to be painted. The pace car style that I see
in the catalogs is three piece but urethane.
Anyone have an opinion whether urethane or fiberglass is better? Which has the cleanist look or are they the same? Any input on installing (bolt-on, rivet, adhesive)? Should I go cheapest? Any more feedback?

Urethane will have more flex if you ding it on something, but the fiberglas will hold its shape better.
Fiberglass is classy - paint it the same red color of your car. It bolts
on easily. Urethane sucks -- you are paying extra for a pace car
style. Your car looks great - even better with a front spoiler. I put
a front and rear spoiler on my '75 - both painted the same color of the
car - looks great.
Thanks for all the input. Looks like I'll be going with the one piece fiberglass spoiler. I also plan to put 80-82 rear bumper cover on and sport mirrors and paint all to match. Hope to have done in the next couple of months. I'll post some pics when completed.

Excellent choice. I have the 1-piece and have been very happy with it. It was simple to install after my brother painted it for me. If it ever gets dinged up or cracked it will be easy to fix.
Sometimes those 3-piece spoilers don't match up just right and it looks mismatched installed.

I "had" the fiberglass pacecar spoiler. Loved how it looked but a stray cat in the road took it out and it cracked the body where it was mounted. Damn cat.

I had one put on my '76 Camaro and loved it for about a month until my wife ran over a Christmas tree. Yes, I said a Christmas tree -- don't ask. Fortunately, she's too scared of my vette
..... my wife ran over a Christmas tree. Yes, I said a Christmas tree -- don't ask.
My ex-wife ran-over a rock, sitting in the MIDDLE of the road, bigger than a basketball, and ripped-off the transmission pan from her Citation:
I went to the local AAMCO shop to buy a cheap replacement pan, and showed him the creased-and-twisted pan.....
The counter guy takes one look, and asks, "Your wife DOES know there's a difference between FRONT-wheel drive and FOUR-wheel drive, doesn't she?"
I am getting ready to buy my 4th, I think, for my 81. All have been fiberglass, all have been ripped off by 18 wheeler recapped tire crap left in the middle of the road. You just can't see that black junk in the dark until its too late.
My question is that I heard there was supposed to be an additional support other than the bolts that hold the spoiler to the lower frame. I also heard that this support is no longer available, so we are all doomed to buy these things over and over until we die. If I could only live with that snaggle toothed look, but I can't.
The Indy ft. spoiler designed for our Vettes w/ wind tunnel scoops up air for cooling, cleans up airflow underneath & sweeps the airflow around the front tires.
Rec. for all 68-79 ! I put factory 3 piece on as soon as possible, so early that the paint matches & it appears original.
i have a 79 with the rear spoiler and the guy that had the car before me hit something with the front spoiler ripping it off.i thought some day i will get a front spoiler for the car. i went with the urethane 3 piece pace car spoiler that was on the car . had it painted to match the vette and it came out great. the front spoiler gave the vette a different cool look. i should have put that spoiler on years ago. the guy that painted the spoiler put it on for me,no charge, and it just bolted on. the only trouble that he had was fitting it together so it fit snug. he had to shave alittle off here and there but it came out great. i got the spoiler at a local shop called corvette world and i paid about the same as ecklers with shipping. what ever spoiler you choose it will make your vette look cool.
