I had planned all week long to take my S15 Jimmy to T&T on Sunday. Saturday while me and my trusty helper (15yo son) were getting the Jimmy ready he cross-threaded one of the rear lugnuts (the can't run to the store and get another one WELD lugnuts) and probably the stud as well. Anyway, I took the Vette instead and it ran a best of 7.933 in the eighth. The previous best was a 7.991. This is with the same basic combination I've had in the car for about 8 yrs now. It has gone from a 9 flat to this over the years with basically fine tuning. And NO, I didn't pound my son even though this is the second time he has done that!
Congrats on the new numbers. What kind of tires are you using to get such good 60 ft times?
Thanks Fronts are 165/80/15 Kumho radials, rears are 255/60/15 MT ET Street drag radials all on Convo Pros. I've done just as well with the 275/50/15 BFG drag radials I had previously though.
I'm just wondering why you're not running the vette more often
Well, it's actually a combination of things. I spent alot of the last 2 years building my S15 Jimmy then I had emergency gall bladder surgery in July '06 and then total rgt hip replacement in Nov '06. So I've been a little beat up lately. I plan on racing both my hot rods more this year...then get my other hip replaced in '08!!
