For those of you who don't know my saga, I had a 1976 that was totalled by a hit and run driver about 3 months ago. After fighting with the insurance company for a month and a half, I finally got a reasonable settlement.
Today I purchased a replacement.
It's a 1973 metallic yellow automatic, L82.
It needs a little work on the brakes and AC to get it to be a summer driver.
Thanks for all the support in my whole insurance fight.
I wasn't really looking for any color in particular, just something a little different. The photos that the seller sent me didn't do the car justice. It really shines in the sunlight.
The interior is black and mostly new. Even the clock works
The AC compressor isn't in the car, but he has it.
Pedro, I got it from a guy in Leominster, MA. He sold this and his 1954 Ford truck to buy a 1999 silver Vette.
The woman in front of the car is my wife. (She actually told me that I could get this car. All the others that we looked at were not quite as pleasing to the eye ;) )
I'll get more info to all of you when I pick it up next week.
Then you can expect a whole host of new questions relating to the various problems that I have yet to notice. :D
your going to have to be ready this time its gotta be able to down shift and leave em in the dirt if anyone gets right on your bumper (cool you have one now ;) ) and stop before the other person does, and yeah that is how you have 500 horsepower safely :reddevil
Oh, I think there is a new name on the horizon, but that's not it.
The pictures really don't show the color off well, it is a beautiful color and changes with the amount of sunlight. I went and looked at it last night with Mike and the car is in really nice shape, its definitely show quality inside, outside and under the hood. It definitely needs more grunt and some tuning of the brakes but otherwise is all set to go. Bubba has made his prescence known but nothing major. It is VERY tight, especially for an early C3 and rides and handles nice with no rattles or squeaks. Trust me, I searched out every pothole I could find and couldn't coax any noise from the old beast. I think its a much better car than its predecessor and the best thing is, no whitewalls!!! I'm jealous,it is far nicer than my C3 in every aspect (with the exception of the drivetrain) :D Maybe that wreck was a blessing in disguise???
Welcome back. Now you have the best color Chevy ever put on a Corvette. I may be biased because I own a 71 War Bonnet yellow one which I believe is the same color. It looks the same as my car anyway. I get so many compliments on the color that it is hard to beleive that in 71 War Bonnet Yellow was the most popular color and now you hardly ever see one. Cechk mine out at my website http://www.corvetteforum.net/c3/theandies/ I have the cure for you low performance.....its called a ZZ4 :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: Get one...I highly recommend it. ZZ4 there is no substitute. DON"T PAINT IT RED ALL CORVETTES ARE YELLOW

Welcome back and nice find. I don't know how rare metallic yellow is. There is one identical to yours parked down the street from me in Belmont CA. It has been "for sale" for years.
