Default Winterize Or Drive

Any comments on wether its better to winterize your machine or drive it every couple of weeks... I have always been one to think its better to run your vette every few weeks to keep things lubricated and working...............

most people that let their car sit over the winter, they try to start the car once a week, and some back in into the driveway, then back into the garage. I personally believe it should be driven year 'round, but some people get snow where they live......

All I do with mine here in the North Country is: Top off the gas tank and put some STABIL in it; disconect the battery; start it up to operating temp every 2 wks or so; and if the weather is decent enuff (No salt on roads) take'er for an easy cruize to keep all the juices flowin'....maybe at least up and down the driveway a few times to let everything happen :D :flag

Rich80: Drive mine everyday. That way I don't have to winterize it.

I wish I had a choice. To much snow in our area.
I just start mine and warm it up once a week.
I also shift the tranny and turn on the A/C

I won't drive mine in the winter here. They put salt on the roads at the slightest hint of snow. I've got enough rust on the frame and such and don't need any more..... I fill up the gas tank and pour in some "dry gas" before I let it sit. I do start the car every week and let it run for 20 minutes or so. It spends the winter in a nice dry (but cold) garage.

When you live where I do, it's not a question you can ask yourself. The snow is usually piled up so high you can't get it out of the garage door, so we just have to fire it up and drive it back and forth about 3 feet while making cruising noises. :D Unless the vette grows all wheel drive and another foot or two of ground clearance, I'll be waiting till spring.

i'll drive mine on the weekends until the salt hits the road, then it's up and down the driveway a few times every 2 weeks, keeps the seals from shrinking and gas from "varnishing" the inside of the carb.i have a relatively rust free frame and plan on keeping it that way.

Here in the snow belt, I fill my '81's gas tank, add fuel stabilizer, pull the battery, then cover her for the winter.

Are there links to any tips on winterizing? I don't think salt is legal here, but they do use sand and it gets in *everything*. Nasty. Chips paint, scuffs up your car's underbelly, NO THANKS. I'll 4-wheel stud the pickup and load the bed with sandbags.

Anyway, yeah...links, tips and tricks on winterizing.
