A friend and I were just talking about Carfax the other day and most of what you get is BS. :bs :bs He had a 95 TA that was hit on the right rear quater panel and the dealer fixed it. This didn't show up on Carfax. He also had the transmission replace under warrenty...also a no show on Carfax. Carfax also said that his TA had 6 incidents before he purchaced the report and all they reports showed oil changes and routine maintainance performed at the dealer. We ran my 95 Prope GT ( that had been hit in the passenger door) and when we got to the end it said no incidents on this vehicle. I guess you can take the information with a grain of salt. Where do they get this info???? I think this is a money making scheme but thats just my opinion. Buyer beware

I use CARFAX fairly often, and all it shows here in CA is the registration history. It is useful for late-model used cars that may have been rentals, or stolen, or come from a salt environment. That stuff all shows up. As far as repairs, I've only seen that stuff on the cars with salvage titles, which I avoid like the plague.
