What we really need to do is some covert action. Down and Dirty! Take out the leaders by whatever means we can..... These guys are the "run-and-hide" type, without the money and influence they will fall. Then go after Iraq to finish the job. As President Bush said: Why use a $2M missile to take out $10 tents! A couple of well placed, well paid, snipers might do a lot of good.
We are going to do that, but first we bomb any well known spots to destroy as much as possible including any weapons, vehicles, training camps etc. I guarantee troops will be put in within 2 weeks, prolly within this week.
People watch CNN?????? I guess that's alright if you're looking for half of the story. Fox News Channel is where it's at. :D Either way, glad to see we're getting after them, and I hope all of our great military personnel make it through OK.
Hopefully they'll take out the Bar Stewards once & for all. There's been a few programs on TV about Afghanistan showing how the Taliban treat their own people. Unbelievable. It's one thing reading about it, but seeing it on film really hits home.

I was not talking about sending in ground troops, too obvious.... When the rats go into hiding you need to use methods our country does not like to talk about.......
News people should be left out of the loop, no information, all they do is let the enemy know what is going on in detail, plus they are biased. Sometimes the public does not need to know all, they can't keep their mouth shut like a lot of congressmen. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER and letting the enemy know every move makes them stronger. Beside, terrorist WANT publicity so they win when you give it to them with hours of relentless reporting of the same thing over and over. Look at world war II and how the news people were the militaries friends and actually helped, and kept people informed of what they needed to know. Vietam was where the new went to the other side. My opinion but one I am entitled to. :flag Kick the enemy's butt but spare us the details which only serves to help those seeking to hurt the US.
Maybe you guys ought to live in a country like Afghanistan... Where there is no free press. Where people are told by their media only what they want people to know. Things like all Americans and westerners are bad. Yea... that sounds like a great place to live...where an independent journalist telling the truth amounts to a death sentence.
Yea... great idea... keep the news media out. We don't have to have anyone keeping an eye on government do we... They always do the right thing.
Good points above. The press ARE biased: we keep getting lots of coverage of the Moslem leaders here, who seem to be anti everything the West do (if they don't like the West, then what are they doing living here?). The press should keep well out of Military operations until those operations have been completed. I'd rather hear about something a few days after it's happened then just prior to it, if it means that peoples lives won't be put at risk.
A friends Brother was in Afghanistan last month (on holiday!!!) & said that the Afghan people were very friendly (one Afghan he met had a Brit bike shop & took a rare part off of one of the bikes, gave it to him as a souvenir & refused to accept any money as "you are a visitor"). The job of the media should be to keep those people fully informed of what is going on, with no Bullpoopie. If they don't know what is happening then there is every possibility that their own media will convince them that we are attacking the Moslem world.
