I ended up with four, but if I'd had a brain and a bench grinder, one would have handled it. My reprofiled bits lasted a lot longer than they did out of the tube.

Once you have the ability to precision drill your hubs, what the best 1/2" drill bit to use? what kind of lubricating oil works best and won't affect the PB or brakes if some drips on?
You don't use a 1/2" drill bit. An archives search for the old 1/2 stud threads should bring up the bit size discussions.

I have had a number of requested to make the drilling fixture. While I am not interested I do have a fellow who will produce them to my specs.
He would like $30 per unit plus shipping.
I would like you to supply the drill size you want for drilling so the fixture will be custom made to that dimension.
I would also like the size of the hole in the hub so the pilot can be turned to this dimension so it fits nicely in the knocked out stud hole.

No, meant a 1/2" drill, not the bit size. One of the more heavy duty drills, not the handman putting up sheetrock drill.

I'll have to search the archives to see what bit sizes were used.
Aren't the stock holes 7/16th?
How do you determine what size bit to use for the new studs?
For example:
This ARP stud shows the below info:
Thread Size: 1/2-20 RH in.
Knurl Diameter: 0.618 in.
Underhead Length (in): 3.050 in.
Knurl Length (in): 0.800 in.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Does this mean the length of the stud from the hub surface to tip is 3.050 inches? If the knurl diameter of 0.618 inches what size bit would work best? Do you want a smaller knurl diameter?
Thanks guys

I know, i'm a pain in the ****.
