This is way off topic, but I was on the Enterprise in the 60s. Does anyone out ther remember how many planes were on large carriers at that time. I seem to remember it was at about 115 aircraft. I see now that it is down to 85. The ships company is also a lot lower than in the past. Roger L. Gibbons 1978 and 1980 Corvettes

I understand the Clinton administration reduced the size of the military by about 40% - staff and hardware - over the past 8 years. Perhaps this is reflected in the numbers you saw for the Entreprise.
