Default Lowered front end--> pics

After six years I finally have the car the way I thought it should look. After I put the 265 50 series tires on the front the lower profile tire made quite a gap in the front wheel well. I cut 1 coil off each side and now it sits just the way I wanted. The only real problem is that it is just 2 inches off the ground at the front.

No more speed bimps for me :D

At what point of the car do you have the lowest clearence ?

Have you had the wheel aligned yet? How well did that go?

That 2" clearance is to the rubber skirt.. right? You actually have about 3" of clearance so no worries about speed bumps...

As always your car still looks fabulous. I have to say that I think that is the best looking c3 I have ever seen. Everytime you post a pic of it I just love it. What is your fender lip height now?

Hey MotorHead,
Are you going to lower the back end down a little to get that "just right stance"?

Looks great!!!

Looks very sweet!

I agree. Maybe get some of those 10" long rear spring bolts and drop the rear maybe an inch to be a little lower but still with some of that sweet rake. VERY COOL!!

Your car looks absolutely beautiful ! I too was thinking that the back might look alittle better lowered just a tad IMHO. It sures has a great look about it though. My car is lowered & I love the look. It seems SOOOO low when waxing the front end & you can't see the bottom half of the car ;) :yesnod: .

Your color looks so much like mine (mine changes colors depending on the light) . Do you know the name of the color ?

Thanks for all the compliments, to answer a few questions the lowest part is the front rubber skirt, a little over 2 inches. The fender lip to ground is ablout 26.5 inches, the back tires are 295 50 15's and the I like the handling better now as there is not as much body roll. I haven't aligned it yet as that might be a problem because it won't go on any rack now.

I think I'll leave the back the way it is now, it kinda reminds me of 383 'Cuda days :D

Beautiful. Question??? Why didn't you just buy the springs and keep the originals just incase? The price wasn't to bad if I remember correctly. But never mind the car looks bad ash!! :yesnod:

May I suggestthat you go to the archives and find the Vette Improvement Program article on suspension and read up on Z height and D height. Dramatic changes such as yours look great but can alter suspension geometry adversely.
The article by John Greenwood will assist in lowering with good suspension performance.

Looks great. I've seen a lot of C3s that seem to be to high both in the front and back.
