I have a '78 c-3 and am in the process of replacing the engine with a newer 350. It has the newer vortec heads and one piece rear main block. The intake I have came from gm performance because it still needs the e.g.r. port. My problem is that the intake is too tall and the hood will not close. Before I cut a hole in the hood for a scoop, does any one know of a lower rise intake with an e.g.r. port. Thanks.

Why do you think you need an EGR? Now maybe your air cleaner is too tall. Do you have a drop base cleaner, if so how much drop is in it?

I don't know any manufacturers that makes a low rise vortec manifold with EGR. Why do you need the EGR?

Like Ratflinger, I would lower the air cleaner before I cut a hole in the hood.

I do believe you will hear get a drop base air cleaner quite a bit.
